Maggie was an absolute dream to work with for our recent maternity session. She was relaxed and easy going, while showing an obvious love for what she was creating. She has a definite eye for detail both small and large, and was great at communicating what she was trying to achieve. Maggie made us feel so comfortable, and made it easy to smile genuine smiles! We are the type of family that somehow at least one person has their eyes closed or half open in every photo, but she caught us all in our best moments. She also magically tamed and pictured our wild 2 year old, which on the day, I thought would have been nearly impossible! To say she is talented is an understatement. We had such an amazing experience having Maggie take our pictures to celebrate our five year anniversary together. The minute we were together she made both of us feel at ease and comfortable! Maggie has a contagious energy that immediately makes you feel like you are in a perfect dream. I loved that we were able to collaborate on different ideas to be able to have what I had envisioned come true! Born In Mud Bay has done an amazing job capturing our picture perfect moments. Maggie is an absolute amazing photographer, is highly enjoyable to be around and has an eye for the perfect picture. Maggie did a phenomenal job with our maternity & newborn photos. I received them and they made me cry! It felt like I was reliving the day. She picked a great location and made it lots of fun. She was very interactive with my 3 year old daughter which definitely made it more fun for her. Once our son was born Maggie was over within a week to capture our new family. She came right to our house which was amazing, was all about having fun and getting the most out of our session which she did. She out did herself. She connected with my daughter and got her very involved which was above and beyond anything I expected. While she was shooting our family/newborn she mentioned that it was one of her firsts. Well you wouldn’t even be able to tell. She asked us exactly what we wanted and delivered more than that. Maggie and Ben were so wonderful to work with. Right from the beginning she was helpful with location and outfit ideas and picking the time of day for the best lighting. The photo session was fun and easy going, the two hours flew by. Maggie was able to capture the bond that Dustin and I have together and with our dog. I originally chose Maggie and Ben to take photos of my son and I because I loved their style and the locations I saw pictured in their portfolio. What I didn’t realize I would be receiving was a full on unique experience that was completely tailored to my exact vision. I felt so at ease, confident, and they made it extremely fun for my 5 year old. It was so natural and nothing posed; just us having fun. I am so grateful they were able to capture the bond my son and I have through their lens. Thanks to you both as I now have photos to cherish for a lifetime. 

There is no shortage of amazing things to say about working with Maggie. We both had nerves about being in front of the camera, as well as being able to make everything work with our daughter who’s only 18 months old and very busy. The minute we started, those nerves melted away and we all had so much fun! We followed the lead of our daughter and went where she went throughout the shoot. We got to do what we were comfortable with and just engage and laugh and play with our family! She captured PERFECTLY the sweet moments of us as a couple and a little family of three. We are so grateful to have these photos as memories we get to keep forever. We can’t say enough about how fun, down to earth, and amazing the whole experience was!

After getting married, Michael and I wanted to do a couples boudoir photoshoot! (Ok, admittedly ... I was the one who wanted to, it was his wedding present to me!) We were struggling to find a photographer who was committed and responsive because let’s face it.. we were a giant ball of nerves, and wanted answers right away. I made a post in a photography group looking for someone to do the shoot, I got A LOT of replies. If I am being COMPLETELY honest, Maggie was not my first choice as she didn’t have any photos of “plus size women in lingerie” and that was a huge fear of mine as it’s very easy to make us look unflattering in photos. After the initial photographer bailed the day of, I messaged Maggie apologizing and practically begging her to still shoot us. My husband is VERY shy, like if you don’t talk to him he won’t talk to you kind of shy, so I made sure Maggie knew that, and that this was his first photoshoot, he was SO nervous. She continually reassured us that we didn’t need to worry, and it would be amazing. We showed up and right away she asked us what we were comfortable with, if we had any photos of inspiration, and just surprised both of us with her professionalism. She offered us drinks right off the bat to help us calm down and get more “natural” she painted such a perfect picture and timeline with the photos and let us get comfortable with her and shooting together intimately. She made jokes, made us laugh, and had us just be “us” the experience was next to none, when we left my husband was SO happy and couldn’t stop talking about how Maggie made him feel so comfortable and that it wasn’t awkward at all. In that discussion we both said “regardless of how the photos turn out.. that was 100% worth it anyways” she sent us 5 sneak peaks within 24 hours because come on... who isn’t antsy and doesn’t want to see their photos like NOW lol. They were AMAZING, I loved every single sneak peak.. then about a week later we got our full album to choose our favourite and again... it was so hard narrowing it down! I’m a picky “picture taker” it has to be perfect for me to like them and there wasn’t a single photo that I didn’t like! My husband was a little shy and wasn’t sure if he wanted to post them online but when he saw them ... he posted them too! Which was a HUGE surprise ! Michael and I will for sure be shooting with Maggie again in the future, we’re now trying to conceive and Michael brought up having Maggie take our maternity photos once we get blessed with a pregnancy! Make sure Maggie is your first choice because it was the best “mistake” we ever made!
