Why Born In Mud Bay?

As for the name, this is truly the best way I can describe myself. Growing up around the lakes of Ontario or “Mud Bay” as it was better known, I was surrounded by family and all of natures beauty. I wouldn't be who I am without these memories and the love I experienced growing up.

Born In Mud Bay represents connection to the people and places that mean the most to us, allowing us all to be exactly and unapologetically ourselves.

About Me

As a photographer, I am drawn to connection. I believe there is something so special about seeing a photo and being able to feel the emotion from the moment when it was captured. Behind my lens, I believe in story telling and showing all forms of love in the realest of ways. For those who know me, you know I wear my heart on my sleeve, I am always down for an adventure and will do whatever I can to keep people smiling. One of the key elements I foster in my sessions is authenticity. I want my couples to see their photos and feel like I’ve captured a sense of who they are while at the same time showcase moments of intimacy and connection with whoever they are standing next to. Evoking emotions and story telling are at the forefront of what I do. Whether we are nestled in an intimate space, or up somewhere on a mountain, a part of me comes to life when I pick up my camera.

If you are considering shooting with me please know that in front of my camera there is no judgement, no limits and you can be unapologetically yourself.  I know for many of us, we look back at our photos and cherish them dearly as they have the ability to bring us back in time and remind us of everything we felt in that moment. Getting the chance to capture these once in a lifetime memories for my clients is almost too wonderful to put into words but something I will always strive for. I am thankful everyday that I found photography because its allows me to truly express myself and capture the greatest thing we have in this world.

No matter the occasion, I am humbled at the opportunity to play a small part in one of your life’s greatest moments.

Q & A

Question

Answer

Do I need to pay a retainer upfront to secure my session booking ?

To secure your session (Couples, Engagements, Family or Intimate), I require a non refundable retainer of $50 CAD. The remainder of your fee can be paid on or before the day of your photoshoot.

With respect to weddings, I require a 25% retainer of your package total to be paid upon booking. The remainder of your fee must be paid two weeks before your wedding date.

You can pay via Credit, or Interac e-Transfer. I have chosen to require non refundable session retainers to avoid any last minute cancelations.

How will we receive our photos?

Every one of my clients will receive an email with a link to an online gallery via Pic-Time. From this link, you will be able to download/purchase prints directly from the website and prints will be delivered straight to your front door. Pic-Time is a platform many photographers use and from personal experience, they don’t skimp on quality. Trust me when I say it is so worth it to spend the extra coin on getting high quality prints instead of going to your nearby photo kiosk! (plus if you’ve got that one grandma who just loves seeing your cute face up on the fridge and is constantly pestering you for photos this makes it easy to share the love).

What is your turn around time like?

For smaller sessions such as couples, family, engagement & intimate sessions, I quote a 4 week turn around time. For larger events such as weddings & elopements, depending on the package I quote anywhere from 30-60 days from the time of your event date. Don’t worry though, I know how exciting it is to have photos taken especially when its for a big event or important milestone so I always promise to send a few sneak peeks within 48-hours of your session to give you something to love on while you wait. It is important to keep in mind, I am not only spending this time retouching, but I have recently fallen IN LOVE with creating GIFS and slideshows to add that little cherry on top of your gallery. I ensure to take the time to produce the best work possible that both you and I can be proud of.

How do we book you?

You can use the booking link under the info bar or click here to take you to my contact form.

Do we need to bring anything to our session & do you have a client closet?

It is important for me as a photographer to try to capture as much of my clients personality as possible and tell a small piece of their story through the images from our session. I will always come prepared with blankets and any other small props that might fit the session, but if there is something you and your partner love doing together or really want captured, then bring whatever you think will help tell your story and capture who you are! To give you a few ideas, guitars, pillows, champagne, PETS etc. are all great ideas. You-do-you boo!

If you would like to shop my client closet for your session you can use the link below to view the items I have available. Let me know if you would like to use any of these pieces and I will be sure to bring them along with me. Currently available:

  • Green dress with two different top options (Size inclusive)

  • Beige gown (Size Inclusive)

  • Flat brimmed Lack of Colours hat.

Do you travel for your sessions?

Yes yes 1000x yes. Alberta is a beautiful place with some amazing scenery and I myself am always up for an adventure. Therefore I am not limited by location and am happy to take you exploring with me. All session fee’s include travel costs up to 100km from the central Calgary zone. After that, additional travel costs may be added to your overall session fee depending on your location of choice. If you are located outside the Calgary / Alberta area and are interested in booking please send me a quick hello and let me know your vision for the session. (You never know when I will be in your area… wink wink).
